Agenda Set For ASRW Industry Forum

Automotive Service & Repair Week (ASRW) organizers have announced the agenda for this year’s Industry Forum, which will be held on the morning of Oct. 12. ASRW — which encompasses the CARS and NACE shows — will take place Oct. 10-13 at the Morial Convention Center in New Orleans.

From 8:30 am to 9:15 am, there are two sessions …

• Manufacturer members of AASA will discuss the intangibles and value-added services that go into quality parts in a panel discussion titled “What Else Is in the Box? More Than Just the Part!” AASA vice president Jack Cameron will moderate. Panelists will include Bobby Bassett of Gates Corp., Scott Howat of the Affinia Group and Jack Vollbrecht of Remy International.
• A panel discussion on where the insurance industry is headed will be moderated by Dan Stander of Fix Auto Highlands Ranch. The panelists — who will address market consolidation, cloud computing and retaining policyholders — include George Avery of State Farm Insurance, Randy Hanson of Allstate, Robert Knott of Nationwide and James Spears of USAA.

From 9:30 am to 10:15 am, there are two sessions …

Dave Kusa of Autotrend Diagnostics will moderate a mechanical market panel titled “Paving the Road to Success – The Next Generation.” He will be joined by panelists Taylor Hill of Larson’s Service, Josh Ingram of Colchin Automotive & Diesel and Chip Wright of Pete’s Garage.
• A collision parts supplier forum will focus on how suppliers distinguish themselves through distributor certification and customer service, and how suppliers interact with information providers in bringing their parts to market. Denise Caspersen of ASA will moderate. Panelists will include Mike Dolabi of National Autobody Parts Warehouse, Terry Fortner of Keystone/LKQ and Dan Morrisey of PartsChannel.

Tickets for the forum are included in the purchase of a Super Pass or may be purchased individually during online registration or on-site for $50. Attendees may select the forum sessions of their choice.
