Asbury’s Q3 Parts And Service Comps Flat Year-Over-Year

The Asbury Automotive Group (Duluth, GA), the sixth largest U.S. automotive retailer, saw its parts and service revenue increase 4 percent to $145.90 million in the third quarter of 2011. This $5.50-million year-over-year increase was made up almost entirely of parts and service revenue derived from acquired dealerships, meaning that same-store parts and service revenue was flat.

Parts and service gross profit rose 7 percent to $81.80 million and increased 3 percent to $78.70 million on a same-store basis. Same-store customer pay gross profit rose 3 percent to $49.10 million, warranty gross profit fell 16 percent to $10.10 million and wholesale parts gross profit decreased 2 percent to $5 million in the quarter.

Asbury operates 79 retail auto stores, encompassing 99 franchises for the sale and servicing of 30 different brands of automobiles.
