Chrysler Group, Fiat Open Mopar Operations In Shanghai, Dubai

Chrysler Group and Fiat have announced the opening of Mopar parts distribution centers in Shanghai, China and Dubai, United Arab Emirates (UAE). The 172,225-square-foot facility in China will integrate domestic and regional operations, and will distribute 35,000-plus part numbers to more than 130 dealer locations in China and 20-plus third-party distributors and joint-venture partners throughout the Asia Pacific region. The warehouse also will be a referral point for other Mopar warehouses in South Korea, Japan and Australia, which service more than 200 additional dealer locations.

The 193,750-square-foot parts distribution center in Dubai will support the redistribution of parts throughout the Middle East and Africa. The warehouse will move more than 30,000 part numbers to support general distributors and local sales companies.

In related news, five Mopar Express Lanes were opened last year in Saudi Arabia (Riyadh and Jeddah), Kuwait and Jordan. This year, seven additional Mopar Express Lanes will open in the United Arab Emirates (Abu Dhabi), Qatar (Doha), Saudi Arabia (Dammam and Jeddah), Iraq (Baghdad) and Kuwait.
