Charlie Ayers — a 24-year veteran of Midas International Corp., most recently as franchise business manager — has been named president and CEO of the Coordinating Committee for Automotive Repair (CCAR). Ayers has served as chairman of CCAR for the past two years. He replaces Darren Fristoe as president and CEO. Fristoe remains with the organization as executive director and chief operating officer.
Fristoe had been seeking a replacement for some time, with his search focused on candidates with an extensive background in the automotive service industry. “While searching the industry for a qualified candidate, it occurred to me that we had a more-than-qualified candidate in chairman Ayers,” Fristoe said. “Sometimes, you look far afield only to find your best choice is close at hand.”
