Hella Inc.: Product Management Specialist – Lighting – (IAM) V


Expert for the highly complex product portfolio (e.g. competition, trends, user needs, Contact Person for major customers and Work out possible strategic opportunities with them).Setting up and maintaining personal contacts with customers while taking into account the hierarchies of particular customers, and within the group. Involved in carrying out the necessary measures to achieve the departmental aims.

Duties and Responsibilities                                                            

A   Product Management

1   Expert for the highly complex product portfolio (e.g. competition, trends, user needs, Contact Person for major customers and works out possible strategic opportunities with them)

2   Develops globally coordinated/executed product strategies in cooperation with sales companies for the highly complex product portfolio

3   Develops and administers product range (incl. gap analysis, range extensions) to meet needs & limitations (e.g. price points) of global markets & customers, while ensuring adherence to product & packaging specifications, cost, quality standards and project schedule

4   Has full responsibility for the portfolio along the entire product life cycle

5   Actively supports to “push” product portfolio. Does necessary internal product trainings to create strong PS teams (in cooperation with product training)

6   Portfolio performance analysis. Driving corrective measures in cooperation with sales/marketing when found poor portfolio sales performance/performance not reaching its full potential

7   Range streamlining: monitors the performance of portfolio’s sub-groups & individual SKUs, conducting deletions of “low selling/non-profitable” products with low chance of sustainable success in the market

8   Driving purchasing priorities (with strategic purchasing department) and sales planning (incl. budgeting process & forecast), inventory/OFCF management (with supply chain department) belong to the daily activities

9   Supports quality management (esp. in case of major issues or product/ packaging deviations from the agreed specification; understands global legal, environmental & safety requirements), supports & defines product marketing strategy (in cooperation with marketing department); main interface for other internal departments (e.g. engineering/development, marketing, sales, quality, controlling, legal etc.)

Job Profile / Requirements

Education – Bachelors or Master Degree required Experience: 5+ years of direct experience in same or similar position
